CP Automatic Digital Folding Machine through the intelligent automation design, a wide variety of fold patterns are automatically set by inputting the sheet size and selecting a fold pattern or invoking the historical data, through the touchscreen. CP Automatic Digital Folding Machine can automatically complete all folding buckles, folding knives, pull gauges, and other settings in a few seconds, and rush into production. Adhering to the high performance and high-efficiency characteristics of normal folding machines, which can easily carry out high-quality and precision folding production.
Tom Ralph added that ''You would have seen this sort of technology in the commercial web offset, large places.
So now using it here in bindery, it just makes it easier. It reduces labour and gives you a better product,
higher productivity on saddle stitching or perfect binding." Tom also demonstrates how the machine seamlessly performs its tasks with remarkable efficiency. "When it gets to the designated amount of signatures inside, the log will put a strap around,
or the logger will put a strap around the product, the log, and the robot will pick the the log up and place it on the pallet.
So it gets rid of all the manual handling here. I think it's something pretty cool and something that Australia should really be getting their teeth into."
He also added that a plastic strap wraps around it, allowing it to return to its starting position and prepare for the next cycle. The log at the back will be released and sent down a conveyor to the robot cell.
These robots are designed with safety in mind. They're housed in a cage, but you can also opt for a laser beam enclosure.
The robot is programmed to stop if it detects any resistance over 100 grams, ensuring safety in case an operator decides to reach into the cell.
The pallet of logs that the robot assembles is much neater than what I could achieve manually. Plus, this robot can operate continuously—365 days a year, 24/7.
